01Who we are and what these terms cover

RGB Studio is a macOS app. In these terms, “we” means the people who develop and sell it. These terms apply to buying RGB Studio on rgbstudio.co and to using the app.

By buying or using RGB Studio, you accept these terms, the privacy policy, and the refund policy. If you don’t agree, don’t buy it or use it.

To buy it, you must be of legal age under the laws of your country, or have permission from a parent or guardian.

02What RGB Studio is

RGB Studio is a native app for Apple Silicon or Intel Macs running macOS 13 or later. It controls the lighting on supported Razer peripherals: colors, effects, brightness, zones, and profiles.

  • It talks to your devices over USB (for wireless models, through their USB receiver). Lighting can’t be controlled over Bluetooth.
  • It doesn’t need Razer Synapse, OpenRGB, drivers, or an account.
  • It only controls lighting. It doesn’t change DPI, macros, or buttons, and it doesn’t update or modify the firmware on your devices.
  • The list of supported models is in the compatibility section. Check it before you buy.

03Price, payment, and delivery

  • Price: US$8.79, in US dollars, as a single payment. It’s not a subscription: there are no monthly, yearly, or automatic charges.
  • Taxes and bank fees: if taxes apply in your country, they’re shown on the checkout page before you confirm. Your bank or card issuer may add taxes or fees on foreign-currency purchases; that’s out of our control.
  • Payment: it’s processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • Delivery: as soon as your payment is confirmed, you get access to the app download. Stripe emails you a receipt: keep it, it’s your proof of purchase. If you lose the download link, email us from the address you paid with and we’ll send it again.
  • Price changes: the price may change for future purchases. That doesn’t affect what you’ve already paid.

04Your license

When you pay, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use RGB Studio on the Macs you use yourself, for personal use or for your own work.

  • It doesn’t expire. You can keep using the version you bought for as long as you like.
  • It includes every update we release during the beta.
  • The app, its code, its design, and the RGB Studio name belong to us. Buying it gives you the right to use it, not ownership of the software.

What you can’t do

  • Resell, rent, lend, or sublicense the app.
  • Share the installer or the download link publicly, or distribute copies.
  • Decompile or modify the app, or remove parts of it, except to the extent the law in your country allows.
  • Use it for anything illegal or to harm other people or equipment.

If you don’t comply with these conditions, your license ends and you must stop using the app.

05What being a beta means

RGB Studio is in beta. That means it works, but we’re still polishing it:

  • It may have bugs, and some models on the list may only partly work (for example, with fewer zones or effects than on Windows).
  • We may change the design, add features, or remove some.
  • During the beta, the app isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so macOS will ask you to confirm the first time you open it. The FAQ explains how.

That’s why the app is provided “as is” and “as available”: we don’t guarantee that it will work without interruptions or errors, or with every model, firmware version, or future version of macOS.

The app runs on your Mac and doesn’t depend on our servers: if we ever stop releasing updates, the version you installed keeps working for as long as macOS allows it.

If you find a bug or want to suggest something, tell us through the feedback form. It’s the fastest way to make the app better.

06Not affiliated with Razer or Apple

RGB Studio is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or approved by Razer Inc. Razer, Chroma, and Synapse are registered trademarks of Razer Inc.; we mention them only to say which devices the app works with. Mac and macOS are registered trademarks of Apple Inc.

  • Razer doesn’t provide support for RGB Studio. If you have a problem with the app, contact us.
  • The warranty on your devices is set by Razer, under its own terms.

07What’s up to you

  • Checking that your model is on the compatibility list and that your Mac meets the requirements before you buy.
  • Using the app with devices you own or have permission to use.
  • Quitting other lighting apps (Razer Synapse, OpenRGB, SignalRGB, or others) while you use RGB Studio, so they don’t get in each other’s way.
  • Downloading the app only from rgbstudio.co or from the link we send you after your purchase.
  • Deciding whether to give the app the permissions macOS asks for with some devices, such as Input Monitoring. Without that permission, those devices can’t be controlled. We explain what the app does with it in the privacy policy.
  • Being careful with the lights: if you’re sensitive to flashing lights (for example, if you have photosensitive epilepsy), avoid fast animated effects and talk to your doctor.

08Limitation of liability

We do everything we can to make RGB Studio work well. Even so, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or opportunities resulting from using the app or being unable to use it.
  • We aren’t liable for failures caused by hardware, device firmware, macOS, other apps, or changes made by third parties.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to RGB Studio is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Nothing in this section limits the rights your country’s consumer protection law gives you when that law doesn’t allow you to waive them.

09Support and refunds

Support is by email, at hola@rgbstudio.co, and through the feedback form. We try to reply within a few business days.

If the app doesn’t work for you, you have 14 days from purchase to ask for a full refund, without giving a reason. The refund policy explains how to ask for it.

10Changes to the app and to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes or when the beta ends. The current version is always the one on this page, with the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll announce it on the site.

Changes don’t apply retroactively against you: what you bought and the license you received remain valid under the terms in effect when you bought it.

11If there’s a dispute

If there’s a dispute, email us first: almost everything can be sorted out by email. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law of your country gives you as a consumer.

If a court rules that any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
